A visit to the south island ...

For the Christmas break, we went to the south island. We started our trip by taking a train to Wellington (the southern most point on the north island). We stayed the night there and then we push all our suitcases to the ferry, boarded, and we were off to the south island. We went to Christchurch, Akaroa, Oamaru, Dunedin, Ivercargill, Bluff, Queenstown, and then back to Christchurch.  From there we flew home to Auckland!  It was a fantastic trip!!!

Leaving from Auckland
Some other senior missionaries were on the train with us.
Beautiful sights along the way!
We had a fun time in Wellington walking around town.
On the ferry!
We pass the other ferry going the opposite direction.
We are now in Picton ... time to jump onto another train!
We go to Akaroa and take a boat trip.

Visiting a castle with the Buckners.

We had a fabulous Christmas meal!
Christmas dinner with the Buckners (our DTA who happened to also be in Dunedin).
